5 Strategies For A Smoother Disney Vacay

If you’ve ever made a Disney trip with kids, you know how overwhelming it can be. With so many fun options and so much to see and do each day, many families come home exhausted and feeling like they missed out on key things they wanted to experience on their trip. Here are a few tips to help you streamline your vacation to Walt Disney World so you can get the most out of your trip!

Set Realistic Expectations

As parents, we are used to doing this for our kids, but it’s important for adults too! Disney parks are ever-changing to keep you coming back for more each year. If you know this going in, you can relax and realize they are trying to maximize the opportunities for fun and focus on enjoying your trip without the pressure of doing EVERYTHING.

Disney hosts over 58 million visitors a year. If you’re traveling during a hectic time of the year, it’s unlikely that you’ll get to do everything the parks offer, which can be disappointing. Set realistic goals for your trip and consider the time it takes to walk from place to place, and that you might stop and decide to do something else along the way, and how long you might have to wait between activities. Setting realistic goals sets you up for success.

Plan Plan Plan

Disney is HUGE, and going in without a plan can be overwhelming. However, having a general plan for your day doesn’t mean you can’t deviate from it. Knowing what experiences your family wants to have will help you prioritize activities. One way to think about it is the more planning you do ahead of time for your trip, the less time you’ll spend frustrated in the actual park. When you work with an expert like Joy, she can help you maximize your experience at your Disney Destination.

Don’t Over Book Table Service

There are so many great meal options at Walt Disney World. However, sit-down meals (table service) are meals that require reservations at Walt Disney World. While they are delicious and fun, they take a lot of time out of your day at the park. If you overschedule these, you might find your ride time very limited.

Pay For Premium Lightning Lanes

Each park has one premium lightning lane you can purchase in the morning and skip the line later in the day. While this isn’t for everyone, if a specific ride is important to you or one of your kids purchase it and save yourself some time later, it’ll be worth the investment to maximize your time.

Pick The Right Resort

There are 27 resorts on the property. They have something for everyone (and every budget!) But each resort has something special. Knowing which one is best for the trip you are going to have will make the experience so much more enjoyable from the start. When you book, it’s important to consider location, transportation to parks, amenities and room layout. Especially when traveling with the whole family.
